A meditation on depression, and on the part of the self that keeps reaching. A chain-bound core of hand-forged steel presses down; from it rises a hand built from ten rare hardwoods, the fingertips still reaching, silently pleading for help. Below, the cypress base is held together by yellowheart butterfly joints, the woodworker's way of mending what has split.
